Downtime guide used on this page: ● none to minimal / ◐ a few days of redness or scabbing / ○ follow-up visit required (check your travel dates first)
Injectables ●
Botox (wrinkle injections) — forehead lines, glabella, crow’s feet, masseter (jaw slimming), underarm sweating. Korean-made or Allergan. Effect appears in about 3–7 days and lasts roughly 3–6 months. Risks: bruising, temporary asymmetry, heaviness.
Hyaluronic acid filler — lips, cheeks, chin, nose, nasolabial folds, tear trough. Korean-made or Allergan Juvéderm. Risks: bruising, swelling, lumps; rare vascular complications, which is why a doctor injects and dissolving agent is on hand.
Skin quality ●
Skin boosters — Skinvive (Allergan), Juvelook, Jalupro, Plureal Densify (polynucleotide). Fine injections across the face for hydration, texture and fine lines. Usually a course of 2–3 sessions spaced about a month apart; a single session is possible during a trip. Risks: needle marks and bruising for a few days.
Baby collagen — for fine lines under the eyes.
Fat-dissolving injection — for a double chin or fuller cheeks; swelling for a few days, usually 3 or more sessions.
IV drips — glutathione (“Shirotama”), high-dose vitamin C, exosome. About 30–60 minutes.
Chemical peels — massage peel, manuka peel. Mild redness for a day.
Face & neck tightening
Thermagen EVO ● — radio-frequency heat delivered to the dermis to tighten the face, jawline and double chin without cutting. Almost no downtime. The effect lasts about 3 months.
Thread lifts ○ — Mild / Strong / Eternal / Tess Lift, and collagen “short threads”. Dissolvable threads placed under the skin to lift and firm. Bruising and swelling for 1–2 weeks; a follow-up check is needed, so please confirm your schedule.
Pigmentation, pores & acne scars (KO laser) ◐
KO Spot — targeted treatment of dark, well-defined spots. A scab forms and comes off in about 1 week; keep the protective tape on and avoid sun. Usually one session per spot.
KO Toning — low-energy sessions for melasma, dullness and uneven tone. Minimal downtime; usually 5–10 sessions.
KO Fractional — light spots, pores, acne-scar pigmentation. Redness and roughness for a few days; usually 3–5 sessions.
Mole & wart removal — the mole is shaved away with an electrosurgical knife (no stitches in most cases); priced by size, with “unlimited” plans for 5 / 10 / 20 lesions. Protective tape for about 2 weeks. Large or deep moles may need excision. If a lesion looks suspicious, the doctor refers you to a hospital for biopsy instead of removing it.
Subcision / TCA CROSS — for depressed acne scars. Bruising for about a week.
The KO laser is a device imported by the doctor and is not approved by the Japanese Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare. We explain this, and the risks of pigmentation changes and burns, at the consultation.
Laser hair removal ●
Medical-grade laser for women and men: full body, face, bikini (VIO), beard, and single areas. One session during a trip is possible; long-term hair reduction normally needs 4–12 sessions about 1–2 months apart. Please shave the area the day before. Risks: redness, folliculitis, rarely burns or pigmentation changes. VIO cannot be treated during menstruation.
Eyes & cosmetic surgery ○
Double-eyelid (buried suture) — 2-, 3- or 4-point. Swelling for 1–2 weeks.
Under-eye bag removal (transconjunctival lower-eyelid fat removal) — no skin incision. Swelling and bruising for 1–2 weeks.
Lower-eyelid skin removal / Sub-brow lift / Non-incision ptosis (MT method) — surgical options for excess skin and heavy eyelids.
These procedures require a post-operative check. If you cannot return for it before leaving Japan, we may advise against the procedure.
Hair loss (AGA) & medication
AGA injection — new HARG+ therapy — growth-factor injections into the scalp by the doctor. Single session or courses of 3 / 6.
Oral medication — finasteride, dutasteride, minoxidil (hair loss); vitamin C / vitamin E / tranexamic acid (skin brightening); isotretinoin (acne). Prescribed after consultation.
